Surface Pro 4

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 debuted in October 2015 as the fourth generation of Microsoft’s Surface Pro tablet / notebook computer. As has been common with previous iterations of the Surface Pro line, the Surface Pro 4 is thinner, lighter and faster than earlier models.

The Surface Pro 4 includes Microsoft’s Windows 10 Pro operating system and is powered by a dual-core Core i7 Intel Skylake processor with the Intel Iris 540 GPU. Microsoft increased the display size in the Surface Pro 4 from 12 inches to 12.3 inches, with a resolution of 2736×1824 and a 267 PPI (pixels-per-inch).

Pricing and Availability for the Surface Pro 4

Pricing for the Surface Pro 4 starts at $899 and includes the Surface Pen, but it doesn’t include the $130 Type Cover, which serves as the Surface Pro 4’s keyboard.

Microsoft started taking pre-orders for the Surface Pro 4 in early October, with actual shipping beginning on October 26, 2015. The Surface Pro 4 shared its launch date with Microsoft’s first laptop offering, the Surface Book, which carries a starting price tag of $1,499.
