The iPhone SE is the latest release in Apple’s line of immensely popular iPhone mobile smartphones. Apple’s iPhone SE offers almost all of the features of Apple’s iPhone 6s, but in a smaller 4-inch display form factor nearly identical to that of the iPhone 5s.
The iPhone SE was announced on March 21st, 2016, with pre-orders starting two days later on March 24thand official availability starting March 31st. Apple also announced that it would be discontinuing the 4.7-inch iPhone 5s following the debut of the iPhone SE.
Pricing and Features in the iPhone SE
Like the iPhone 6s, the iPhone SE includes a 64-bit A9 processor (which is three times faster than the chip in the iPhone 5s), Touch ID support and a 12-megapixel iSight camera that can capture 4K video.
The iPhone SE also features the same 802.11ac WiFi radio as the iPhone 6s and the ability to make phone calls using WiFi only. In comparison to the iPhone 6s, the only feature missing in the iPhone SE is 3D Touch functionality.
In addition to the offer consumers a smaller form factor option, the iPhone SE also costs considerably less than the iPhone 6S, starting at $399 for the 16GB model and $499 for the 64GB model.
