iPhone 5S

An improved version of Apple’s iPhone 5 that adds a number of key new features while retaining the iPhone 5’s 4-inch display. The iPhone 5S was announced in September 2013 as a replacement for the iPhone5 and the new top-of-the-line smartphone in the iPhone lineup, which also includes the newly announced iPhone 5C and the older iPhone 4S.

The iPhone 5S runs on a new 64-bit A7 chip that offers 2x the CPU and graphics performance of the iPhone 5 and 40x the CPU performance of the original iPhone. Another key addition in the Apple iPhone 5S is a TouchID fingerprint reader that s built into the phone s home button.

The iPhone 5S also adds improved camera and battery life, OpenGL ES 3.0 support, a new motion coprocessor (the M7) and support for the new iOS 7 mobile operating system. The phone itself is made of a high-grade aluminum with “chamfered edges,” and is available in two different colors: a silver gray and a completely new gold version. Pricing for the iPhone 5S remains unchanged from the iPhone 5.
