A slang phrase used to describe flawed Google search engine results. The phrase first started being used in 2002 in reference to a “blip” where Google search results produced the Microsoft site as the top search result for”go to hell.”

This type of blip had nothing do to with anything on the Microsoft Web site itself, but rather common phrases that other Web sites linking to the Microsoft Web site used, that boosted the site to the number one search result for that phrase.
