(n.) In a biometric security system, when an impostor intentionally submits a modified or forged biometric sample as that of an authentic enrollee with the purpose of gaining access to a system using the enrollee’s identity. The forged sample is compared to the enrollee’s reference template. Active impostor acceptance implies that the impostor successfully gains entrance into the system using the falsified identity.

    Compare with passive impostor acceptance.
