Gmail

Gmail Sign InGmail is a free, search-based email (Webmail) service, which is accessible from a Web browser anywhere in the world so long as an Internet connection is present. Gmail was first introduced by Google in 2004 and limited test accounts were made available in 2005. According to Statista, Google’s Gmail service has 900 million active users worldwide (Jan-May, 2015).

Gmail Sign In

To access a Gmail account, users must first register to create a single Google account to access multiple Google services. On the Google Account sign up page you will be prompted to enter personal information such as your name, location, date of birth and mobile number.

After creating an account, simply enter the Gmail website URL in the browser’s address or location field (https://mail.google.com/) and use the Gmail account by typing in a username and password.

Gmail Powered by Search

The backbone of Gmail is a powerful Google search engine that quickly finds any message an account owner has ever sent or received. When Gmail displays an email, it automatically shows all the replies to that e-mail as well, so users can view a message in the context of a conversation. There are no pop-ups or untargeted banner ads in Gmail, which places relevant text ads and links to related Web pages adjacent to e-mail messages.
