Skillshare

Skillshare is a project-driven online learning community. Skillshare users have access to a large library of video courses and guided projects that are led by experts and leaders in their field. Rather than simply listening to lectures, Skillshare courses are based on projects that members can expect to complete by the end of each course.

Who uses Skillshare?

The majority of Skillshare users are students and professionals who are looking to learn a new skill or further develop their specialities. However, many educators also use Skillshare to record and promote their own instructional content.

Many businesses offer Skillshare subscriptions as a company perk or to assist with continuing education. The Society for Human Rights Management reported in its 2020 Employee Benefits Survey that 74 percent of businesses offered formal training for employees to develop new skills, and 81 percent offered professional memberships to programs like Skillshare.

Types of Skillshare courses

Skillshare courses span a wide range of topics. Visual art courses include animation, design, illustration, photography, and videography. Technology courses include UI/UX design, and web development. Business and entrepreneurship courses include business intelligence, data science, project management, freelancing, content marketing, and business development. Other miscellaneous courses include creative writing, cooking, crafting, gaming, and teaching.
