Revolution Analytics is a provider of big data analytics software. The company is a commercial provider of software and services based on the open source R project for statistical computing. The Revolution R Enterprise analytics software is designed to enable statistical analysis of big data.

Revolution R Enterprise is a commercial package of R, an open-source functional programming language designed for statistical computing and graphics. R is being increasingly used for data analysis. Revolution R offers a version of R that can run in parallel, across multiple processors.

Revolution R Enterprise 6.0

Announced in June 2012, R Enterprise 6.0 includes the built-in RevoScaleR package allowing R users to process, visualize and model terabyte-class data sets in a fraction of the time of legacy products without using specialized hardware.

Features of Revolution R Enterprise 6.0 includes platform LSF cluster support for distributed computing on multi-node Platform LSF grids, support on Windows-based grids provided via Microsoft HPC Server, cloud-based analytics with Azure Burst, big data generalized linear models and direct analysis of SAS, SPSS, ASCII and ODBC Data.

Revolution R Enterprise 7 (RRE 7)

In February 2014, Revolution Analytics announced Revolution R Enterprise 7 (RRE 7). RRE 7 provides on-demand access to high-performance predictive analytics to optimize operations, and expedite data insight and discovery from any place at any time.

Revolution R Enterprise 7 combines performance and productivity of Revolution R Enterprise on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Through the AWS Marketplace, users can run computations on data sets up to 1 terabyte on cloud-based Windows and Linux multi-CPU instances from 2 to 32 vCPUs (virtual CPUs), accessing data stored in Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Relational Data Service (RDS). RRE 7 on AWS Marketplace includes extended support for Linux and Windows users.
