Classroom amplification technology creates an environment where each child in the classroom has an equal opportunity to clearly hear the teacher’s instruction. CATs are a low-volume amplification system that improves clarity of speech and sound throughout the classroom. The system usually consists of a configurable microphone for the teacher, a base station receiver, and a combination of wall and ceiling speakers. Some CAT systems are also designed for multimedia inputs within the classroom, such as electronic whiteboards, computers, and plasma screens.
