Servers

Servers are networked computers that provide data and services to other computers (clients) on the network. Servers are often dedicated computers, although a server can be a standard client computer on the network that is also capable of providing one or more services for other client PCs. The term servers can additionally refer to special software developed to help server computers efficiently handle the requests of client computers.

From server hardware manufactured by companies like Dell, HP and Apple to server software like the Apache Web server, our servers dictionary offers a glossary of key terms you need to know.
