online data storage

Also called Internet storage or hosted storage, it is a data storage management solution that enables individuals or organizations to store their data on the Internet using a service provider, rather than storing the data locally on a physical disk, such as a hard drive or tape backup.

In online storage, data from your hard drive is uploaded to a remote server or computer using a network connection. Online storage technology leverages the Internet and cloud computing to create an attractive off-site storage solution with little hardware requirements for any business of any size.
