In word processing, it means a page of text. Most text-processing applications recognize a hierarchy of components, starting with a character at the lowest level, followed by a word, a line, a paragraph, and a page. Applications permit certain operations for each type of component; for example, you can delete a character, a word, a line, and sometimes an entire page. For pages, you can also specify formatting characteristics (for example, page size, margins, and number of columns).
