A specialty performance-based certification program offered by Sun Microsystems (part of Oracle Corporation) that targets information regarding Java components related to Web applications, specifically Servlets and Java Server Pages (JSPs).

Specifically, the Sun Certified Web Component Developer (SCWCD) certification requires proficiency in the application of Java Server Pages and servlet technologies used to present Web services and dynamic Web content using Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE technology).

Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) is a prerequisite for the SCWCD certification exam, which is a computer-based test administrated through the education division of Oracle, Oracle University.
