Short for Memory Controller Hub, MCH is an
implementation of the Accelerated Hub Architecture (ACHA),
this is the faster end of the ACHA, often referred to as the
Northbridge, a
reference to the older three-tier chipset design. The MCH provides the system
bus interface, memory controller, AGP interface, and hub interface for
I/O.
