iPhone 8

The iPhone 8 is the upcoming eighth generation of Apple's popular iPhone mobile smartphone device. Apple's iPhone 8 is expected to be officially announced in September 2017, following the iPhone 7 as the company's latest, greatest smartphone device and marking the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone's debut.

While there aren't any official details of new features or what exact form the iPhone 8 will offer, the iPhone 8 is rumored to offer significant enhancements over previous iPhones and do so in a new form factor that will likely feature a curved edge-to-edge AMOLED display similar to the latest Samsung Galaxy Edge smartphones.

Also not known at this time is whether or not Apple will officially name the device the iPhone 8, as there is some speculation that Apple could instead opt to tap into the iPhone's tenth anniversary milestone and name the phone iPhone 10 or iPhone X.

New Features Expected in the iPhone 8

Moving beyond its new design, additional enhancements and improvements in the iPhone 8 are expected to include an integrated Touch ID fingerprint reader in place of the Home button (which is expected to be eliminated in the iPhone 8), wireless charging capabilities, a faster 10-nanometer A11 processor that offers higher performance while utilizing less power, an all-glass body, and a front-facing camera that's integrated into the display.

Many details remain unknown about the iPhone 8 at this point, including pricing, the exact dimensions of the iPhone 8 devices, when the iPhone 8 will be available for purchase, and how many models will be offered initially in the iPhone 8 lineup. We'll update this space with additional information on Apple's iPhone 8 as it becomes available.
