DVB-MHPShort for Digital Video Broadcasting Multimedia Home Platform, DVB-MHP is an open middleware system for interactive digital television. Also called MHP (Multimedia Home Platform), MHP is the standard that specifies an application execution environment for digital interactive TV. MHP is independent of vendor-specific hardware and software. The standard also defines the form in which applications are delivered at the receiver, including service information that signals interactive applications are present in the transport stream. The DVB specifications include an API, download mechanisms for applications and software functions. DVB-MHP was designed and maintained by the DVB project.
