academic retail software

Also called academic retail, in software distribution academic retail software is the term used to describe a full version of a software package that is sold at a discount to academic users. Academic retail software are in factory sealed retail boxes and the software can be registered with the software vendor for warranty and technical support. Academic retail software is designated for student and student personal use, not commercial use.
