abrasive

In Fiber optics, it is the term used to describe any hard material that is powdered, carefully graded and then used to finish the ends of optical elements, including the ends of optical fibers and connectors. The abrasive partials are used in a similar way to how one would use sandpaper to finish or shape on object.
